Ruth grew up helping her father at their Findley Market meat stand in Cincinnati, Ohio. Many lifelong friendships were made during this time. Ruth also worked at Procter and Gamble, and she was religious about only buying P & G products for the rest of her life. After marriage, Ruth and Richard made the West Side of Cincinnati home. Ruth also enjoyed working at Wassler Meats. She loved waiting on her customers and appreciated the family atmosphere there, which reminded her of the days working with her father. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She volunteered at her church and was a friend to all. She was noted for her candy making skills and her generosity. She was a selfless servant with a giving spirit that touched many lives. In the summer of 2023, Ruth and Richard moved to North Carolina to be closer to their family, especially their beloved grandson Tyler. Ruth was an animal lover at heart and donated to many animal charities. She was a loving wife, mother, mother -in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Green will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Green’s husband, Richard Allen Green, preceded her in death on May 20, 2025, after 68 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was one of deep respect, unwavering commitment, and an enduring love that stood the test of time. Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law, Dr. Julianne V. Green, and JoAnn Green Brucker and Jeffrey; grandson, Robert Tyler Haynes; sisters-in-law, Jean Green, Marjorie Green, and Ardith Green; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Beck and sister-in-law Janet. A private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy with Pastor Jason Madison officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ruth’s memory to: Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
