Ruth DeHart

Mrs. Ruth Midkiff DeHart, age 92 of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mrs. DeHart was born September 18, 1926, in Surry County to the late Maggie Deatherage and Ben Midkiff.  Mrs. DeHart faithfully attended Community Baptist Church and worked at Renfro until her retirement.  Mrs. DeHart is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy DeHart, Dan and Teresa DeHart and David and Becky DeHart; grandchildren, James DeHart, Derrick DeHart, Sarah DeHart, Amy DeHart, Karen DeHart, Brooke DeHart, Thomas DeHart and Annie DeHart; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bennie Simmons.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan DeHart; daughter-in-law, Cathy DeHart; and sisters, Ruby King, Mary Lou Midkiff and Rachel Midkiff.  A service will be held at Community Baptist Church on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Kenneth Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 at the church.  Flowers may be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church, 198 Delaware Avenue, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
