Ruth Ann Christenson Jarrell

Mrs. Ruth Ann Christenson Jarrell, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, March 4, 2024, at her home.  Mrs. Jarrell was born August 9, 1944, in Middlesex County, NJ, the daughter of the late Karl and Anna Koch Kristenson.  Ruth worked as a retail associate for many years, including The Dress House, Goody’s, and Dollar General.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Howard Jarrell; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Denise Jarrell; her grandchildren, Timothy and Amanda Jarrell, Heather and Kyle Poteat, and Jennifer and Adam Akers; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Doris, Barbara, and Marie.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jarrell was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Lynnette Jarrell; and seven sisters.  No formal visitation or memorial service will be held.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
