Mrs. Sally Ann Venable Moser, 82, of 140 Cadle Knoll Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, October 16, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Moser was born July 8, 1933, in Surry County, one of ten children born to the late Jerry and Sarah Bowman Venable. Sally was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Luther Wayne Moser of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Mitch Martin of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Terri Moser and Brian and Kristy Moser, all of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, T.J. and Courtney Martin, Kari and Dalton Reynolds, Kelly and Janet Moser, Lee and Amanda Moser, Addison Moser, and Charlotte Moser; a great-granddaughter, Charlee Elizabeth Moser; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Moser; four sisters, Mary Ruth McDonald, Bernelle Jordan, Catherine Moser, and Louneil Mosley; and five brothers, Wade Venable, Ted Venable, Vance Venable, Keith Venable, and Don Venable. A service of worship and a celebration of Sally’s life will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Wallace and the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Plains Elementary School Backpack Program, 710 Cadle Ford Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
