Sammy James Bowman

Mr. Sammy James Bowman, age 54 of Mount Airy passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024.  Mr. Bowman was born May 29, 1969, in Surry County to Jerry Wayne Bowman and the late Dephia Marshall Bowman.  Sammy was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Surviving is his father, Jerry Wayne Bowman and Kay Boyles; sister, Sabrina Bowman and Jeff Marshall; niece, Kirsten Bowman and fiancé Teague Henley; nephew Dusty Ray Lovill and wife Kendra; great-niece, Ally Lovill; great-nephew, Landon Lovill; and special brothers, Billy Holt, Lee Tesh and Eric Vannieuwkoop.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Sammy Lawson and Pastor Scotty Bullins officiating.   Interment will follow in Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Moody Funeral services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
