Sammy Ray Simpson

Sammy Ray Simpson, age 62, of Mount Airy NC, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born in Surry County on July 10, 1964, to the late James Ray Simpson and the late JoAnn Victoria Carpenter Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Simpson. Sammy was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and working on his farm. Surviving is his loving wife, Christie Simpson; father-in-law, Butch Collins; his son and daughter-in-law, Morgan and Chrissy Linville; his daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Aaron Hudson, and his grandchildren that he loved deeply, Wyatt, Willow, and Lucas.

A Celebration of Mr. Simpson’s life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 5:00 PM, in the Moody-Davis Chapel in Dobson, with Pastor Ronnie Payne and Pastor Craig Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday night immediately following the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Simpson family.
