Sandra Evans France

Ms. Sandra Carol Evans France, 78 of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday February 15, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. She was born in Surry County, October 11, 1947, the daughter of the late Otis Hasten and Ernestine Lowry Evans. Ms. France was retired from the textile industry as a quality control inspector. Sandra found her greatest joy at the beach, where the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand beneath her feet brought her a sense of peace that nothing else could. She loved collecting seashells, each one a tiny treasure she carried home as a reminder of the place she cherished most. Every year on her birthday, she returned to the shore—a tradition that filled her heart and became a beautiful thread woven through her life. The beach was her sanctuary, and its memory will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. Surviving are her son, Mark France and his wife, Kelley Jackson; her grandchildren, Evan France, Danielle Marion (Jonathan Sessoms); great grandchildren, Brantley France, Kayleigh Marion, Addie Marion; step grandchildren, Erica Carlisle, Kelsey Carlisle, Christopher Carlisle; step great grandchildren, Peydon Sessoms and Noah Sessoms. A graveside service will be on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Pastor Rachael Brooks officiating. The family will receive at Moody Funeral Home on February 27, 2026, from 12:30 until 1:45 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army 651 S. South St., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
