Sarah Louise Hicks Creasy

Mrs. Sarah Louise Hicks Creasy, 88, of Mount Airy, received her angel wings on Monday evening, January 12, 2015, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Creasy was born January 9, 1927, in Surry County, to the late John Dee and Elizabeth Clever Hicks. She worked in the cafeteria at Franklin Elementary School for many years. Her radiant and warming smile will be remembered by her loving family and friends for years to come. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Bobbie Jean Clifton and her companion, Larry Champion, of Charleston, SC, and Patsy Ruth Atkins, Shirley and Homer Casstevens, and Janice and Steve Draughn, all of Mount Airy; two sons, James Edward Dockins of Mount Airy and Robert “R.C." Creasy of Dobson; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Shinault of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creasy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ernest Creasy; and a grandson, Christopher Lee Dockins. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Joe Atkins, the Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. and Homer Casstevens officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Janice and Steve Draughn, 255 Simpson Road, Mount Airy. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Golden Living Center. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
