Ms. Sheila Lynn Martin, 67, of Mount Airy, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Martin was born October 20, 1957, in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Alonzo Lester and Virginia Ann Flinchum Mabe. Affectionately known by all as “Ninnie,” she was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Ninnie always found joy in the simple things of life and was always ready to offer a helping hand. She always had a knack for making things better, whether mending clothes, working on cars, and offering heartfelt advice. Ninnie enjoyed fishing, quilting, breaking beans, and, most especially, spending time with her family. Her most recent and greatest joy was caring for her great-grandson, Oliver, each day. She is survived by two daughters, Christy Shore Radford (Ted) and Jessica Martin Neal (Bobby); six grandchildren, Salem Shore, Trae Radford, Parker Shore, Sierra Radford, Gavin Neal, and Bryson Neal; and a great-grandchild, Oliver Shore. In addition to her parents, Ms. Martin was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rodney Wayne Shore. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Travis Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the church. As we say goodbye to Ninnie, we celebrate a life well lived, a heart well loved, and a soul that has undoubtedly touched so many lives. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
