Mrs. Shelby Jean Phillips Hinson, age 86 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Thursday October 3, 2024. She was born March 1, 1938, in Carroll County, VA to the late Connia Dallas Phillips and Bessie Louvenie Rigney Phillips. She was the owner of Shelby’s 14KT Gold for many years. Mrs. Hinson was a true family person and had many friends. Mrs. Hinson loved music and loved to dance. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy Sykes, Nancy and Charles Thompson, Debbie Beamer, and Mike and Deborah Beamer; 11 grandchildren; special granddaughter, Amy Arnold; special niece, Teresa Phillips; and many other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Franklin Hinson; son, Mark Beamer; grandson, Evan Marcus Beamer; sister, Virginia Sue Phillips Dodson; and two brothers, James Thomas “Tommy” Phillips, and Connia Dallas Phillips, Jr. The Hinson family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Liberty Home Care and Hospice Services for all of the love and care shown to Mrs. Hinson during her illness.
