Shirley Knights

A caring wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandparent, Mrs. Shirley Ann McCarroll Knights, 84, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at her home.  She was born on September 28, 1936 in Schenectady County New York to the late Robert Joseph and Edna Pearl McCarroll.  She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory are sons, Koert, Gregg and Brett Knights; grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, Allison, Katie, Ryan and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Brady, Maddox, Nora, Lily, and Ruby; and sisters, Joan, Jackie, Patty, Mary Lou and Susie.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knights was preceded in death by her husband, William, “Bill” Knights, her brother Robert, and her great-grandchildren River and Piper.  As a breast cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society on Shirley’s behalf.
