Stanley Ray Fleming

Mr. Stanley Ray Fleming, age 84 of Lowgap, passed away on Tuesday morning October 17, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Richmond, VA on October 12, 1939, to the late James Marvin Fleming and Ida Bell Myers Frazier Fleming.  Stanley was retired from Proctor Silex after many years of dedicated service.  He loved to saw wood and piddle around doing anything and everything.  Stanley and Linda attended Bible Baptist Church in Lowgap.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Linda Creed Fleming; a brother and sister-in-law, Leon Gray and Julia Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Lois Fleming; four brothers, James Elroy Fleming, Grover L. Fleming, Otis Burlin “Burl” Fleming, and William Harless Fleming; and two half-brothers, Marvin Louis Frazier, and Dewey Chester Frazier.  Funeral services will be held Friday October 20, 2023, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Farmer and Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fishers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday night October 19, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
