Stephanie Jeanelle Lynch Shumate

Stephanie Jeanell Lynch Shumate, age 56, of Lowgap NC, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 20, 1969, in Surry County, to the late Robert Stephen Lynch and Betty Jean Dollyhigh Lynch, who survives.

Stephanie was a loving mother and grandmother, and because of her love for children, she also loved her time as a bus driver for the Surry County School System. She always had the biggest heart and would always place others needs before her own. Stephanie also loved the beach and collecting shells, and working in her yard.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Trista Renee Shumate (David Keith Combs); her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Keith Shumate and Casse Shumate; her mother, Betty Jean Dollyhigh Shumate; her brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Lori Lynch; grandchildren, Lily Shumate, Maggie Shumate, Alaina Combs, Conley Shumate, and Kyleigh Shumate; her nieces and nephews, Kayla Mankins(Josh), Brianna Allen (Josh), and Ethan Lynch; her best friend, Mary Ann Davis, and her fur babies, Scooby, Coco, and Henry.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Shumate/Lynch family.
