Stephanie Jeanelle Lynch Shumate

Stephanie Jeanell Lynch Shumate, age 56, of Lowgap, NC, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 20, 1969, in Surry County, to the late Robert Stephen Lynch and Betty Jean Dollyhigh Lynch, who survives.

Stephanie, a loving mother and Nana, found joy in her role as a bus driver for the Surry County School System. She had a generous and loving heart, always putting the needs of others above her own. Stephanie also cherished time at the beach, collecting seashells, and working in her yard.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Trista Renee Shumate (David Keith Combs); her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Keith Shumate and Casse Shumate; her mother, Betty Jean Dollyhigh Lynch; her brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Lori Lynch; grandchildren, Lily Shumate, Maggie Shumate, Alaina Combs, Conley Shumate, and Kyleigh Shumate; her nieces and nephews, Kayla Mankins(Josh), Brianna Allen (Josh), and Ethan Lynch; her best friend, Mary Ann Davis, and her fur babies, Scooby, Coco, and Henry.

Along with her father, Stephanie is preceded in death by stepdaughter, Ashley Shumate; and nephew, Brandon Hepler.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Shumate/Lynch family.
