Steve Franklin Pell

Mr. Steve Franklin Pell, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening, June 25, 2026. Mr. Pell was born June 12, 1952, in Surry County, to the late Elbert and Katherine Pell. He worked as an electrician for many years. A faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Dobson for more than 50 years, he served as a deacon and loved serving the Lord above all else. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars, a hobby that brought him much joy. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mr. Pell will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mayes Pell; two daughters, Angela Carol Pell and Jennifer Dawn Pell; a son, Steven Bradley Pell; two grandchildren, Alexavier Pell and Erylin Pell; a sister, Karen Lawson; and a brother, Ricky Pell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pell was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Parker; and a brother, Richard Pell. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church in Dobson, with the Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
