Susie Lynn Morris Puckett

Mrs. Susie Lynn Morris Puckett, age 60 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday afternoon December 2, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on October 15, 1965, in Surry County to the late Ima Lee Cox Morris. She was a loving wife, mother, G-ma, sister, and friend who will be missed tremendously. Susie was an extremely hard worker who always had an infectious smile that would light up the room. She was also a selfless caregiver, always willing to help out a neighbor, family member, or a stranger that had a need. Susie and Lavin loved to antique and thrift store pick in their spare time. Mrs. Puckett is survived by her husband of 32 years, Lavin Kenneth Puckett of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Emily Puckett; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Paul Burch; her precious granddaughter, Olivia Lynn Puckett (shared middle name), whom she adored, and Baby Puckett on the way; sisters, Norma Cockerham, Marie Morris and Terry Fisher, and Cathy and Phillip Snow; brothers, David Morris, Billy and Ressie Morris, and Bobby and Gail Morris; extended family, Mary Fultz; several nieces and nephews; also by her sister-in-law, friend, and neighbor, Amanda Puckett (Brian). In addition to her mother, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Hutchens and Brenda Lee Morris; and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 7, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy at 3:00pm with Bro. Don Fellows and Bro. Jerry Pardue officiating. Burial will follow in the People’s Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 – 3:00pm. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
