Sylvia Ofield Speas Chappell
Mrs. Sylvia Ofield Speas Chappell, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Surry Community Health and Rehab. Mrs. Chappell was born February 7, 1933, in Grayson County, VA, to the late Jessie Graden and Ethel McMillian Speas. She was such a loving person who will be dearly missed. Mrs. Chappell was a retired real estate broker. All her immediate family had already gone to be with the Lord, but her dear cousins will forever cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chappell was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Chappell. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis W. “Bud” Cameron officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
