Sylvia Juanita Goins

Miss Sylvia Juanita Goins, 61, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Miss Goins was born July 30, 1949, in Surry County, to the late Fletcher and Annie Elizabeth Wilson Goins. Miss Goins is survived by five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Helen Hooker of Claudville, VA, Mildred Collins, Elizabeth and James Goins, Faye and Mitchell Hunter, and Inez and Roger Chandler, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Ethel Goins of Clemmons; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Goins of Rahway, NJ; special nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Judy Edwards. In addition to her parents, Miss Goins was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Schmidt; a brother, Arthur Goins; two brothers-in-law, Carl Hooker and Early Collins; and a nephew, Dean Goins. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Unity Church in Ararat, VA, with the Rev. Kenneth Young officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
