Sylvia Mae Inman Shelton

Mrs. Sylvia Mae Inman Shelton, age 84, of Elkin, NC, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home on Monday, April 1, 2024. She was born in Surry County to the late Grover Landcaster Inman and the late Hazel Pauline Adams Inman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thomas Shelton; and two grandsons, Joseph Paul Badgett and Paul Arlin Cave. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnette and Tim Badgett, Tonya and Mike Hulme; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Adam and Dena Cave; grandchildren, Teara and Dustin Dilks, Jadia and Andrew Shelar, Preston and Emily Cave, Nora and Dustin Parks, and a bonus grandchild, Samson; great-grandchildren, Braelen Draughon, Dawson Draughon, Emmlyn Dilks, Payson Dilks, Ivy Shelar, Sidney Cave, Presley Cave,and Everett Shelar, on the way; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Frank Peters, Fayne and William Fesperman, Alice Owens; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald and Janie Inman, Jerry Inman, several nieces and nephews and traveling buddy Frankie Kenard. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Salem Fork Baptist, at 3:00 pm, with Rev Sean Joplin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 pm at the church, or at other times at Mrs. Shelton’s home on Saturday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or to the Salem Fork Baptist Church Building Fund, 555 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin, NC 28621.The family would like to give a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospices for the care of their Mother.
