Tawney Nannette Johnson Bishop

God's angels came for Tawney Nannette Johnson Bishop, 51, of Mount Airy, on Sunday morning, June 14, 2015, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Born April 19, 1964, in Hampton, VA, she was the daughter of Arthur H. "Art" and Nancy Thompson Johnson. Tawney loved her church, garden, and the beach. She is survived by her parents, Arthur H. "Art" and Nancy Thompson Johnson of Mount Airy; a sister, Vanessa and Dr. David Steiner of Aiken, SC; two brothers, Kevin Johnson and Sterling Johnson, both of Mount Airy; a niece and her family, Rachel, Ryan, and Leo Shealy of Louisville, KY; three nephews, Chad Steiner, Jeremy Steiner, and Alex Steiner, all of Aiken, SC; and an aunt, Audrey M. Cain of Claudville, VA. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church, with Dr. Darrell Tate and the Rev. Jake Penley officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until 1:00 PM at the church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by all the wonderful people who helped with her care. A special thanks is also extended to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O.
