Mrs. Tessie Simmons Mears age 89 of Mountain View Drive Mt. Airy passed away Sunday morning June 3, 2012 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mrs. Mears was born July 6, 1922 in Surry County to the late Ephraim and Riller Edna Simmons, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Billy Fain of Pinnacle, two sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Bonnie Mears and Ronnie and Glenda Mears all of Mt. Airy, four grandchildren Michael G. Fain, Kimberly M. Brown, Ronnie L. Mears, Jr. and Wendy M. Minor, seven great grandchildren, Michael G. Fain, Jr., Brittany N. Martin, Dylan C. Mears, Tanner A. Mears, Jordan R. Bryant, Katie E. Bryant and Logan X. Bryant, and by two brothers and sister-in-law Ramon Simmons of Westfield and Rufus and Peggy Willard of Lewisville. In addition to her parents Mrs. Mears was preceded in death by her husband Claude Alvin Mears, a granddaughter Crystal Mears and a great granddaughter Jessica Martin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Gary Sawyers with burial to follow in the Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 10:00 am until time for the service at the funeral home.
