Mr. Theodore Randolph "T.R." McGhee, 82, of 2816 Meadowbrook Road, Cana, VA, passed away Sunday morning, September 6, 2015, at his home. Mr. McGhee was born August 6, 1933, in Williamson, WV, the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Nellie Allen McGhee. He served our country in the United States Navy during the early 1960s. He worked as a welder for many years and was a member of Crooked Oak Moravian Church. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Pedigo McGhee of the home; three daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda L. Winbish of Englewood, FL, Kathy Ann Collins of Pensacola, FL, and Linda Kay and Raymond Brown of Martinsville, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Lindy R. and Nancy McGhee of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Pat Tatum and Kay and Jim Wade, all of Henry, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Glennis and Mary McGhee of Martinsville, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGhee was preceded in death by two wives, Joanne Akers McGhee and Ellen Smith McGhee; a son-in-law, Lynn Collins; a sister, Evelyn L. Beckett; and two brothers, Kenneth E. McGhee and Cecil D. McGhee. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Gary Easter and the Rev. Jerry Keegan officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
