Thomas Claude Sheets

Mr. Thomas Claude Sheets, 76, of 196 Gods Way, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday night, March 22, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Sheets was born December 12, 1939, in Ashe County, one of eight children born to Ward and Josie Riley Sheets. He was a longtime tobacco and cattle farmer and a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Ann Gwyn Sheets of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Verona and Clay Marsh and Delana Sheets, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Guy and Renee Sheets of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Tanner Sheets, Thomas Marsh, Stephanie Sheets, Nathan Sheets, and Sarah Taylor, all of Mount Airy; his mother, Josie Riley Sheets of Mount Airy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann and Gary Payne, Kathy and Billy Inman, and Mary Reeves, all of Mount Airy; and four brothers and a sister-in-law, Dan Sheets, Ralph and Etta Sheets, Jess Sheets, and John Sheets, all of Mount Airy. Mr. Sheets was preceded in death by his father, Ward Sheets. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joey Jessup and the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church.
