Timothy Dale Sechrist

Mr. Timothy Dale Sechrist, age 72, of Mount Airy, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 13, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Sechrist was born on February 11, 1954, in Surry County, to the late Grady Leewood and Alma Lee Chappell Sechrist. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, sibling and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Many would describe Tim as a gentle man, who would give you the shirt off of his back, always willing to lend a hand in the time of need, always tried to make sure no one did without. Tim and his wife were faithful members of King Christian Center. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary “Diane” Sechrist; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Murguz and Jason; sons and daughter-in-law, James Sechrist and Jami, Christian “Grady” Lee Tate; grandchildren, Brandon Murguz, Aiden Sechrist, Katelyn Goodman and Mack, Wesley Eastridge; two great grandchildren; several sisters and brothers; many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a celebration of Tim’s life at a later date. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Sechrist family.
