Timothy Jon Tucker, 71, of Dobson, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.
Tim, also lovingly known as Papa Tim or Boo Papa by his precious grandchildren, was born on June 6, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to Geder Mckiver Tucker and Rosilyn “Demi” Fleming Thompson. He graduated from Mount Airy Senior High in 1973. He worked for many years as a lineman, in refrigeration, and as a pipe fitter. The work he loved most, however, was the work he would do at The Farm with his family, hauling produce, making stuffed animals, mowing, and helping children catch fish.
Papa Tim’s favorite hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley, driving his Corvette, and he was most happy with a fishing pole in his hand. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his friends.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Braden Tucker; his daughter Mayghan (Josh) Watson, son Seth (Tiffany) Braden, daughter-in-love Jill (George) Barlow, son Cory Tucker, brothers Gaylon Tucker and Robert Thompson. He will be deeply missed by his precious grandchildren; Jack, Charlotte, Noah, Lily, Ella, Millie, Maggie, Kyleigh, Lyrik, and Brexley. Left to honor his memory are so many friends who loved him dearly including Mark (Sarah) Marion and all of the employees of The Farm.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held at Moody’s Funeral Home in Dobson on Monday July 13, 2026. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm with a service following at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center in his granddaughter Maggie’s honor.
Papa Tim’s life was simple but spectacular, built on hard work and love for his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered as the best husband, daddy and papa. His kindness towards others and his love for cutting up and making people laugh will live on in all the lives he has touched. The family finds peace in knowing Tim is whole, with his Lord, and that we will see him again some sweet day! Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Tucker family.
