Obituary

Mr. Tommy Estel Alley, age 65 of Trinity, North Carolina passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. He was born in Patrick County on July 12, 1961. He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Estel Alley. Tommy enjoyed fishing and was the type of man who could easily make friends everywhere he went. He dearly loved his family, but his greatest treasure was his granddaughters. He loved being their Pawpaw.

From his granddaughter, Porsche: “My Papaw meant a lot to me and my family. He always saw the good in people no matter what, had a very caring heart, he was very trustworthy, and you could count on him. He was so friendly he would talk to anyone and everyone. He also loved old cars. Every time we passed an old car he would tell me the year and model of the car. Sometimes when I was out and he was not with me and I saw an old car I would take a picture and send it to him. He loved to fish. He would tell me stories about how he and his brother, Ronnie, always went fishing after work. One time they went fishing and caught 75 fish. He took me fishing and I was not as patient as him. He could sit all day, and I could only sit for 10 minutes. I wish to be as patient, understanding, and forgiving as he was. Papaw was my home and he made me feel safe. It didn’t matter where I was as long as I was with him, I was okay. I would run to him when I had nightmares, or a loud storm came along he was always there to make me feel safe. He was constantly there for me. He attended all of my volleyball games. He showed up for me when no one else did. He took good care of me and my sisters, my mom, his mom, his brother, and everyone around him. He did everything in his power to make me happy. He will be missed and loved forever. He will always have a special place in my heart.”

Left to treasure the memory of Tommy Alley is his mother, Almeda Greer Alley of Trinity; one daughter, Jessica Nicole Alley of Trinity; three granddaughters, Porsche Nicole Palidwar of Trinity, Mercedes Renee Palidwar of Lexington, SC, and Lexus Dove Palidwar of Lexington, SC; brother, Ronnie Samuel Alley (Amy) of Stone Mountain, NC; two nephews, Joshua Samuel Alley (Stacey) of Ramseur, NC and Matthew Orin Alley (Kendall) of Wilkesboro, NC; and one uncle, Alfred Glen Greer of Woolwine, VA.

The funeral for Mr. Alley will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Burial will immediately follow in the Greer Family Cemetery.
