Mr. Tommy Cives Hamm, Jr. age 73 of Mount Airy entered into enteral rest on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hamm was born on November 14, 1952, in Washington County, Virginia to the late Helen Louise Vannoy Hamm Thomas and Tommy Cives Hamm, Sr. Tommy worked as a truck driver known to many as “9 fingers”. His hobbies were going to yard sales and flea markets. He always had a great sense of humor. Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Cindy Utt Hamm; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Hamm Swartz (Jim), three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin Lee Hamm (Margo), Travis Lee Hamm (Beckie), Tommy “T.J.” Junior Hamm (Amber); thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, one on the way that he loved dearly; sister, Nancy Hamm Lewis (Bob), two brothers, Charles Hamm, Randy Thomas; a sister-in-law., Karen Utt; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Hamm Russell, Caroyln Hamm Graczyk; and a brother James “Jimmy” Leon Hamm. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Wesleyan Church in Mount Airy with Reverend Jason Madison officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Mount Airy Wesleyan Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
