Tonda Brooks Tyndall

Mrs. Tonda Brooks Tyndall, 57 passed on June 18, 2024, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina after a courageous battle with cancer. Tonda was born in Elkin, North Carolina and grew up in Dobson. She graduated from Surry Central High School, then attended Surry Community College, and then later graduated from ASU with a degree in middle grades education. Although she never taught, she had a fondness for English and math. She loved beautiful flowers and joined her mother at JoJo’s Flower and Gift. There she had many years of bringing happiness and beauty to others. The true joy of her life was being the mother of Shianne and Seth and wife to Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Allen Tyndall; daughter, Shianne Brooks Tyndall; son, Seth Allen Tyndall; mother and father, JoAnn Wood and David Cockerham; goddaughters, Elizabeth White Hyde, Allison “Allie” Angel; special sister, Janie Dezern White; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Betty Wood Bell; cousin, Dale Chipman; maternal grandparents, Archie and Edith Wood; paternal grandparents, Sebert and Fern Brooks; and father-in-law, Alvin Tyndall. A visitation will take place Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service. A celebration of life will be conducted by Dr. Darrell Tate, Dr. David Trump, Dr. Bobby Lewis, and Bro. Jody Mitchell at Salem Baptist Church on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the Tyndall family.
