Toni Leigh Marshall Nester

Toni Leigh “Peanut” Nester passed away peacefully at home Christmas morning with her loving mama by her side.

Toni was born September 30, 1959, to Elzie Glen “Bootie” Marshall and Launia Hawks at Lewis Gale Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

She was preceded in death by her daddy, Bootie Marshall; paternal grandparents, Daniel Mervin and Ethel Hooker Marshall and maternal grandparents, Early Lee and Effie Pendelton Burnette.

She is survived by her mama, Launia Hawks; son Marcus Nester (Kelsee) and Brandon Nester (Angel); grandchildren, Trevor, Aliyah, Julianna, Corbin, Kailyn, and Tanner Nester; step-grandchildren, Scarlette, Harley, Brianna, and Lilly; brother, Ric Marshall (Denise Pardue); sister, Crissy Prevette (Scotty); niece Elizabeth Hull; nephew, Eric Marshall; great nieces, Jordyn and Reese Hull; and longtime friend, Mike Helms.

There will be a service in Toni’s honor Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 2:00PM at Mayberry Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jarred Seal and Rev. Jonathan Goins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Burnette-White Cemetery in Meadows of Dan, VA.  The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 12:30PM ~ 2:00PM.
