Mr. Troy Albert Ayers, age 75 of Cana passed away on Saturday morning, August 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Ayers was born December 21, 1948, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Ewell and Lucy Tate Ayers. Mr. Ayers was a Plumber for many years, and also ran a produce business for 25 years. He had special talents and could accomplish about any type of job. Mr. Ayers was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Troy was a loving husband, brother and friend who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 53 years Beulah Annie “Ann” McMillian Ayers; Jennifer Martin who was like a daughter to him; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Lou Collins, Dorothy Ayers Vernon and Johnny, Christine Ayers Mabe; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.D Ayers, Clinton Ayers and Sandra, J.C. Ayers, Daniel Ayers and Shirley, and Bobby Ayers as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ayers was preceded in the death by brothers, Jimmy Ayers, Richard Ayers, Kenneth Ayers; brother in-law, Ted Collins, and Charlie Mabe; sisters-in-law, Dawn Ayers, Marcia Ayers, and Bonnie Ayers. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Cana with Rev. Roy Quesenberry, and Rev. Frank Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone for their help, prayers and support during this very difficult journey. A special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care and support given during this difficult time. Mr. Ayers had a horrible disease, but we know he is now in Heaven, where there is no more pain and suffering.
