Vance Taylor Puckett

Mr. Vance Taylor Puckett, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 24, 2020, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Puckett was born August 20, 1933, in Patrick County, VA, the son of the late Herman Banner “Buddy” and Mina Bowman Puckett.  Vance retired as the director of plant services at Northern Regional Hospital after 20 years of service.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene Steele Puckett of the home; four children, Edward Grant “Eddie” Puckett of Patrick County, VA, Karen Puckett Bremer of Tampa, FL, Sharon Puckett Hiatt of the home, and Janette Puckett Blalock of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Macie Puckett of Pennsylvania; and a brother, Raleigh Puckett of Hillsville, VA.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Elijah Vance Krouse; a sister, Libby Puckett Gay; and three brothers, Norman Reggie Puckett, Eddie Puckett, and Quintin Puckett.  At Vance’s request, the funeral services will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
