Velvia Harue (Ruth) Marshall

Mrs. Velvia Harue "Ruth" Marshall, age 84 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Center. Mrs. Marshall was born in Patrick County on June 3, 1930 to Granvill Lee and Mallie Puckett Marshall. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to so many, she was last employed at Marshall's Nursery. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Stanley of Mt. Airy and Tammy and Rev. Robbie Sizemore of Hayesville, NC; sons and a daughters-in-law, Nelson and Betty Stanley of West End, NC, Allen Stanley and Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA and Reid and Kathy Vernon of Portland, TN; Thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren,and a brother-in-law Temple Bowman of Ararat, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by two sons Darrell Stanley and a infant son; sisters, Delphia Bowman, Clara Bowman, Leatrice Puckett, Uniter Bowman and brothers, Vernie Marshall and Avery Marshall. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Robbie Sizemore. The family will receive friends Thursday night 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
