Vera Faye Edwards

Ms. Vera Faye Edwards, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Edwards was born March 19, 1953, in Surry County, the daughter of Jesse and Vernie Tate Edwards. She was a nurse at Elkin Health Care. She loved helping people and was a member of Jesus Tabernacle Church in Cana, VA. She is survived by a special friend, David Calloway of Mount Airy; her father and stepmother, Jesse and Lillian Edwards of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and David Turner and Cheryl and Terry Callaway, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Diane Edwards of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews. Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her mother, Vernie Tate Edwards. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Darrell Tate and the Rev. David Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to help the family with the funeral expenses.
