Ms. Vera Elizabeth Farmer Hall, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, January 29, 2024, at Central Continuing Care. Ms. Hall was born October 13, 1929, in Surry County, one of four children born to the late Coy Kimbro and Katy Kirkman Farmer. Vera retired as a sales associate from JCPenney and was a member of Family Fellowship Chapel. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randall Simmons; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Dawn Hall; her grandchildren, Loree and David Whichard, Chuckee and Cindy Simmons, Jamie Hall, and Kara Hall and Rebecca Buffkin; her great-grandchildren, Brodee Whichard, Marlee and James DeCoster, Adyn Hall, Haley Hall, and Carter Hall; a sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Buddy Gravley; and a brother and sister-in-law, Hurley and Polly Farmer. In addition to her parents, Ms. Hall was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Farmer. No formal visitation or memorial service will be held. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Central Continuing Care. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
