Vera DeEtte Jarrell Park

Mrs. Vera DeEtte Jarrell Park, 86, of 402 Ladonia Church Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Park was born September 25, 1922, in Surry County, to the late Ellard Grady and Mary Leota Vernon Jarrell. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon Caldwell and Valarie Park of Winston-Salem, Coy Mack and Linda Park of Martinsville, VA, and David and Lynne Park of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Hank Watson Park of Charleston, SC, Tony Lloyd Park of Dallas, NC, Stuart Thomason Park of Winston-Salem, and Ashley Elizabeth Park of Winston-Salem; two great-grandchildren, Zackary Park and Rebecca Park; two sisters, Julie Jones of Ruther-Glen, VA, and Rebecca Ivylyn Swift of Mount Airy; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ellard "Tom" Jarrell and Garner and Linda Jarrell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Park was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Mack Park, Sr.; and a grandson, Caldwell Pryor "Pete" Park. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Alton Bledsoe, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
