Mr. Vernell Lucas Schlosser, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2025, at PruittHealth in Elkin. Born August 13, 1937, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Otto and Thelma Bles Schlosser. Vernell proudly served his country in the United States Army in the mid-1950s. Following his honorable discharge, he had a fulfilling career as a boilermaker in Kansas City, MO, where he worked for many years. Vernell was a devoted member of the Hope Community Church in Cana, VA. He was known for his kind and warm spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Janice Wilmeth Schlosser; two daughters, Mary and Dawn; a son, Michael; a stepdaughter, Theresa McLemore; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Schlosser was preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Melissa Staats and Angela Chamberlain. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
