Virginia Lea Beasley Sheppard

Mrs. Virginia Lea Beasley Sheppard, age 82 of Walkertown, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Patrick County to the late Marshall Edgar Beasley and Madeline Handy Beasley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marion “Poppy” Sheppard. She retired from McDonald's as a Store Activities Representative. She was very involved with the school system, where she looked after children who were most in need of her help, especially those who were without a family. She loved volunteering for the schools and was active in the PTA, doing whatever she could to improve the lives of the children. She was very generous and would give a person the shirt off her back if they were in need. She could often be found piddling outside or shopping at Goodwill.

Mrs. Sheppard is survived by a son, Adrian Sheppard of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a daughter, Ashton Sheppard of King, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Hunter Sheppard and Abby Sheppard; a great-granddaughter, Rylee Sheppard; and her beloved dog, Sophie.

A memorial visitation for Mrs. Sheppard will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
