Virginia June Rogers Mobley

Mrs. Virginia June Rogers Mobley, age 87 of Mt. Airy, widow of Mr. Claude Mobley, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006 in King. Mrs. Mobley was born in Stokes County, June 16, 1919 to William Henry Thompson Rogers and Susan Ann Wright Rogers. She worked in a defense plant for the military in Winston-Salem during WWII, and was a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Mike Mobley of Mt. Airy; a special cousins, James Rogers of Collinsville and several other cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mobley was preceded in death by sisters, Amanda Rogers, Bertha Rogers, Ettie Rogers, Mary Ellen Rogers and brothers, Willie Rogers, Walter Rogers, Lewis Rogers, Eli Rogers and Folger Rogers. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Rogers-Slate Cemetery, conducted by James Rogers, Rev. Anthony Rogers and Chaplain Thurmond Midkiff. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Rogers-Slate Cemetery Fund c/o Ann Rogers, 447 Albion Church Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
