Vivian Agnes King Parker

Mrs. Vivian Agnes King Parker passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Village Care of King.  She was 90 years old.  Mrs. Parker was born May 1, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Harvey Lee and Clercy Clement King.  She retired after many years of service as a personnel manager for a textile corporation.  Mrs. King is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Mauldin-Ray and Wayne Ray; two grandsons, Casey Gray Mauldin and Cresta and Aaron James Mauldin and Jessica; two great-grandsons, Shifty Mauldin and Cole Mauldin; three sisters; and a brother.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her first husband, James Howard Mabry; her second husband, the Rev. Harold Parker; a sister; and two brothers.  A graveside service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Buford Jessup officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Walnut Ridge of Walnut Cove and the staff at Village Care of King for all the love and support shown to Mrs. Parker and the family during her time at the facilities.  Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy is serving the family.
