Vivian Sechrist

Mrs. Vivian Sechrist, 85, a native of the Commonwealth of Virginia, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. She was born March 15, 1924, in Newport News, VA, to the late Judge Robert S. and Mable May Westmoreland. She was a homemaker and a member of the Parkview United Methodist Church in Newport News, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Gaston Sechrist; and children, Johnnie G. Sechrist, Jr. and Robert Dale Sechrist. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dianna Sechrist Joyner and husband, Richard L. Joyner, of Tampa, FL, Morgan E. Sechrist and his wife, Debra Ramey Sechrist of Hampton, VA, and Gilbert I. Sechrist of Tampa, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, conducted by Rick Joyner. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
