Walter Right Johnson

Mr. Walter Right Johnson, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Mr. Johnson was born on July 28, 1947, in Surry County to the late Harlow Johnson and Josie Anderson Johnson. He was a lifelong truck driver, were he trucked many miles from coast to coast. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Juanita Harris, Laura Edwards and Chris; son, Buddy Hancock; grandchildren, Travis Galyean, James Edwards, Jasmine Harris and Arwyn Edwards; brother and sister-in-law, Otis Dwight Johnson and Faye; special nephew and his wife, Scotty Johnson and Debbie; special fur-baby, Tobi. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his grandchild, Jimmy Galyean, Jr.; sister, Magaline Hicks. Per Mr. Johnson’s request there will be no formal services held at this time. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Johnson family.
