Wanda Deatherage

Ms. Wanda Watson Deatherage, age 89, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, June 26, 2026, at Central Continuing Care. Ms. Deatherage was born in Patrick County, on March 31, 1937, to the late Jesse Watson and Vadie Lynch Watson. She was a loving wife, sibling, aunt, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She worked many years in the textile industry, in quality control. Left to cherish her memories is sister, Jeraldine Watson Midkiff; her niece and longtime caregiver, Sandra Tarn and husband, Mark; many other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ms. Deatherage was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph William Deatherage; sisters, Pauline Watson Mitchell, Annie Watson McBride, Jean Watson Lindsay, and an infant sister. Per Ms. Deatherage request, there will not be any formal services held at this time. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband at Five Forks Wesleyan Church. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Deatherage family.
