Wanda Faye (Worrell) Haynes

Mrs. Wanda Faye Worrell Haynes, age 75 of Cana, Virginia passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Haynes was born on August 3, 1949, in Carroll County to the late Aubrey Jim and Evelyn Hemrick Worrell. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Reaford Haynes; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Haynes Thomas and Darren, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas and Matt, Patrick Thomas and Taylor; two sisters, Elain Worrell Sharp, Susan “Susie” Worrell McMillian; along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cana. Virginia with Reverend Andrew Willard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangement.
