Wanda Lee Hill Pruett

Mrs. Wanda Lee Hill Pruett, 66, of 137 Jackson Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, September 20, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Pruett was born April 29, 1947, in Dade County, FL, the daughter of Lillian Jewell Zimmerman Hill and the late Emmett Leon Hill. Wanda served as a legal secretary in the law office of H. Lee Merritt, Jr. for many years and was a member of Grace Moravian Church. Wanda led an extremely active life of church volunteering, loving people, and waterskiing even to the end. She lived a life of loving God and will leave a legacy for those that knew her to follow. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Terry Douglas Pruett of the home; a son, Chadwick Wayne Pruett of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Justin and Noelle Munoz Pruett of Charlotte; a daughter-in-law, Kristen Williams Pruett of Mount Airy; three grandsons, Chase Douglas Pruett and Brett Thomas Pruett, both of Mount Airy, and Jackson Munoz Pruett of Charlotte; her mother, Lillian Jewell Zimmerman Hill of Mount Airy; and a twin sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Ann and Fred Schweitzer of Greensboro. A service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held Monday, September 23, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Grace Moravian Church, with the Rev. Neil Routh officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Grace Moravian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
