Wayne Roosevelt Branch

Mr. Wayne Roosevelt Branch, of Dobson, passed away April 23, 2024, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County, the son of the late Willliam Fletcher and Nannie Atkinson Branch. He retired from Surry Yadkin Electric after 37 years of service. He was a faithful member of Blue’s Grove Baptist Church. A lover of NASCAR, he loved watching the races on Sunday afternoon. Wayne worked hard and was always there for anyone who needed him. He was just a phone call away.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Donese Mitchell Branch; a sister, Stella and (Kermit) Coble; brother, Claude and (Mae) Branch; sister Maude and (Arthur) Brindle; sister, Gladys and (Fred) Collins; brother, Glenn Branch; brother-in-law, Clarence Swaim; and grandson, Brett Ray. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Branch Pack (Kenny), of Dobson; daughter, LuAnn Golden, of Kitty Hawk; granddaughters, Madison Ray and Jessie Ann Golden; great grandson, Wesley Brett Wheeler (Papa’s Little Buddy); sister, Imogene Swaim, of Randleman; and a sister-in-law, Mearl Branch, of Mount Airy; many loving nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jake and Sue Shelton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Blue’s Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Travis Sechrist officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 PM, and at other times at the home of Wayne Branch. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Blue’s Grove Baptist Church, in care of, Donna Draughn, 3069 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy NC 27030.
