Weldon Darrell Farmer

Mr. Weldon Darrell Farmer, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born April 8, 1937, in Wythe County, VA, to the late Kenneth and Lona Graybeal Farmer. Mr. Farmer was retired from Coy George Construction. He is survived by five daughters and a son-in-law, Krystal Farmer and Kevin Wagner, Sharon Farmer, Tammy and Kelly Goad, and Shirley Farmer and Jeff Whitaker, all of Mount Airy, and Paula Farmer and Michael Kitchin of Flagler Beach, FL; the mother of his children, Anne Scott of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Walley of Richton, MS; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, J.C Farmer, R.C. and Judy Farmer, William and Sheila Farmer, and Mike Jones, all of Kingsport, TN. In addition to his parents Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by a sister, Mayble Archer; and a brother, Dean Farmer. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 20, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Surry County EMS, Northern Hospital ER, Forsyth Medical Center ER and CICU for taking great care and giving the family more time to spend with their dad.
