Wendell "Wimp" Lee Fleming

Mr. Wendell “Wimp” Lee Fleming, age 70, of Mount Airy, passed away early Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at his residence. Wimp as known by many was born in Surry County on July 11, 1955, to Wilma Bowman Fleming and the late Otis Burl Fleming. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and sibling, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Wimp worked many years doing sheet rock work, running his own business. He had a heart of gold, always willing to help, and loved life to the fullest. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany Eddleman and Nathan; grandchild, Mackenzie Eddleman; mother, Wilma Bowman Fleming; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eric Fleming and Vickie, Greg Fleming and Lori; several nieces and nephews. Per Wimp’s request, there will not be any formal services held at this time. The family will hold a private graveside service at Oakdale Cemetery. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Fleming family.
