Willa Gay Fleming Blackburn

Mrs. Willa Gay Fleming Blackburn, age 86, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on May 28, 1939 in Surry County to the late William and Julia White Fleming Lawrence. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Anita Bowman, Shannon Prince (Frank); grandchildren, April Roberson (Josh), Ashley and Cody Bowman, Morgan and Caitlin Prince; great-grandchildren, Tayvin, Declan, Derek, and Amelia; sisters, Polly Inman (Taylor), Nancy Paul (JD), Debbie Hiatt (Gilmer); brother, Bud Fleming (May). In addition to her parents Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her husband, Denzel Jay Blackburn, brother, Jimmy Fleming. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
