Willard Mack Bullins

Willard Mack Bullins, age 81, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully, Tuesday night, December 2, 2025. Mr. Bullins was born February 14, 1944, to the late Herman and Thelma Bullins. Willard lived life to the fullest. He believed in setting goals and achieving them, starting with going back to college with a small family at home and working full-time. This enabled a successful 37-year career with Hanesbrands, where he retired as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and served on the Board of Directors. During his time, he was honored as textile executive of the year in 1999. In addition to his goal setting and achievements for his professional career, he also obtained his captain’s license and spent many years exploring the intercoastal waterway and cruising the islands with his family and friends. He hiked a large portion of the Appalachian trail, obtained his scuba certification and even bungee jumped once. He also loved playing golf and traveling the world. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Juanita Bullins; children, Angie Hickson (Tim), Jody Rotenizer (Jamie), Brian Rotenizer (Connie), Kristen Utt (Chris); brothers, Gene Bullins (Millie), Wayne Bullins, Dennis Bullins (Velva); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Bullins; daughter, Alisha Smith Horton; brother, Paul Dean Bullins; his beloved Pekingese, Cooper. The family would like to share their deep gratitude to the Mountain Valley Hospice team (Lisa, Cindy, and Maria), and his evening caregivers, Gina Bradley and Courtney Blackburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:30 AM until time of the service.
