William MacArthur Bobbitt

Mr. William MacArthur "Mac" Bobbitt, 71, of 3277 Lambsburg Road, Lambsburg, VA, passed away Sunday morning, March 30, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Bobbitt was born October 21, 1942, in Grayson County, VA, the son of the late Edgar Emmett and Ollie Gertrude Beck Bobbitt. Mac retired from the shipping department at National Textiles in Galax, VA, after 34 years of service. He was a charter member of New Beginnings Community Church in Cana, VA. Mac will be remembered for the love of his church, family, friends, and baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Martha Leonard Bobbitt of the home; a daughter, Lisa Bobbitt of Salem, VA; a son, Jason Bobbitt and his fiancée, Jessica Haley, of Rocky Mount, VA; a cherished granddaughter, Maiyah Bobbitt of Salem, VA; a stepgrandson, Noah; a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Linda Bobbitt of Yadkinville; several loving uncles and an aunt; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Community Church, with the Rev. Wes Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in the Hawks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at New Beginnings Community Church, 1790 Old Pipers Gap Road, Cana, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Community Hope Center, 1790 Old Pipers Gap Road, Cana, VA 24317; or Lambsburg Community Center, P.O.
