With love and sadness, the family of William Harvey Money, age 75, shares that he passed away at home on November 26, 2025. To his family, he was everything—devoted husband, proud girl dad, and grandfather whose joy was fullest when surrounded by his girls.
Born on August 6, 1950, in Surry County, William was the son of the late Finley and Ada Money. He honorably served his country in the United States Army before beginning a 39-year career with Duke Energy. In retirement, he found great fulfillment teaching at Forsyth Tech’s linemen program, where he enjoyed sharing his experience with the next generation.
William’s faith was central to his life. As a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Salem Fork Baptist Church, he served with sincerity and care. During his daughters’ childhoods, he also stayed active in their lives and community, proudly serving as president of the Dobson Dolphins Swim Team and taking on many other volunteer roles.
More than anything, William loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky; his daughters, Stephanie Deans (John) of Raleigh, NC, and Lindsay Phillips (Cole) of Kenansville, NC; and his granddaughters, Draper Ada Phillips, Millie Cole Phillips, Livvy Bea Phillips, and Brooke Southern Deans, who were the joy of his life. His granddaughters will forever remember their Pop Pop’s warmth, encouragement, and unwavering love.
William is also survived by two sisters, Brenda Money and Janet Gilley, along with several nieces and nephews he cherished. He was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Cook.
A service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, December 1 at 11 AM at Salem Fork Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Fork Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
